"Just Tell Them...

I have worked 40 years to make the Women's Suffrage platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

Why Mac Chose Sarah (from the Horse's Mouth, so to speak)

More word from Mac on why he chose Sarah from the LA times.

"orders from McCain were to find "someone who had the capacity to be president," Culvahouse said. His team produced 50-page reports on each candidate, drawing from their own investigations and the potential candidate's detailed answers to 74 questions, including "Have you ever been unfaithful?"

Near decision time, Culvahouse said, McCain asked him for the "bottom line" on Palin.

"John," Culvahouse replied, "high risk, high reward."

To which McCain, the former Vietnam attack pilot who flew off and landed on aircraft carriers before spending more than six years as a POW, replied, "You shouldn't have told me that. I've been a risk-taker all my life.""

Long and short of it..... if Mac is behind Sarah, I think she has some REAL potential in 2012.

Unfortunately, Mac hasn't been so enthusiastic lately.
Frankly, I think the entire Republican Party is not going for her, the Obots are in Alaska stirring up trouble, and the AP is printing "waffle" stories. And the business with that boyfriend/father of her grandchild...that's out there, too.

As for me, the fact that she shows up with the right-to-lifers, on top of the other crap is something that bugs the hell out of me.

I like her, but she's becoming more "ordinary" everyday in terms of politics. I don't blame her for that, and I'm not naive enough to think it could be any different. But, it's back to policies for me, and the continued pandering to the "wedge issues" makes any full-blown embracing of any Republican impossible. That and their crummy economic policies, no-holds barred love of unfettered business interests and disregard for ordinary folks.

So, I remain with a party and without a candidate at nearly ANY level of office!!
