"Just Tell Them...

I have worked 40 years to make the Women's Suffrage platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

Need a job? Want to Hang Out With a Bunch of Barely Pubescent (acting) Boy Punks?

Politic USA is recruiting.

If you are really a smartass, you might even be invited to join the mostly white and predominantly male Journ-0-lists.

And.... if you really pander, Obama's advisors may reward you with an invite to the White House.

Though many PUMAs knew what was happening as early as the Democratic Caucus in Iowa ... and many Palin supporters got a clue after John McCain announced Sarah, in Ohio.... the whole truth about the smear campaign against two competent and intelligent women candidates for the White House is yet to be told.

REAL Feminists are all ears!

Being forced to hang out with a bunch of shitstain males who think they're the smartest guys in the room was why I left graduate school.

Which might just be another reason why Academic Women leaders are MIA:

It's more that than anything else, I think. It's not that women's lives are this, women's lives are that, women's values are this or that ... it's that the young men in graduate programs are fucking hateful assholes. It's to the point where if you are ambitious and want to be effective, you just cannot be in that environment. I went into industry, where I could be effective, implement my ideas, and at least have employment regulations on my side when people put up porno posters in their offices (which strangely enough, no one has done in corporate).

I was thinking about what was done to Sarah Palin and Hillary. What it is is sexual harassment on a national scale. Sexual harassment at work means creating a hostile work place and an uneven playing field.

It's shame that not all feminists are willing to view it that way. If a woman was being harassed at work I wouldn't ask what her politics are, question how she's raising her kids, etc. It's quite simple, she's being treated unfairly by an unjust system and her personal beliefs are irrelevant.

If feminists, I mean left leaning ones, would just agree on that one point, I'd be happy, but they just can't seem to do it. They view Palin and even Hillary still, as women that must be knocked down and kept in their place. Needless to say, a few decades of knocking down every women who isn't perfect in every feminist's eyes has not served us well.

  5. Yttik, I would be happy to make you happy on that point , because I absolutely agree that what was done to Hillary and Sarah was sexual harassment , but it is nice to see that perspective acknowledged more widely !

  10. How did Paul Krugman get on the Journolist? He was a strong supporter of Hillary throughout the primary.
