The Hopium doesn't fall far from the L.S.Dopium, it appears.
Part one of "How Obama Got Elected" is being played out every day by the MSM. Excellent synopsis of where the MSM has brought us, Cinie! But, I ask you.... how is it that the children of the 60s have become so gullible? What happened to the "reject authority" brigade?
That, my friends, is part two of the equation. The addiction to Hopium. Which is not the same as Hope, BTW. Hopium is an imposter. An illusion. A glamour of the Crowleian/ Learian variety. It leads to the most wishful of thinking in the most dire of circumstances. The total collapse of consensual reality before the god of relativity.
That so many of the "reject authority" boomers fell for the Obama charade, and bought the "crap is chocolate" sales pitch, is a sad testament to our past as revolutionaries. More sadly, though, the fact that so many of our own children bought it as well, does not portend well for our future as a nation.
Where have we gone wrong?

ReplyDeleteYep, hopium is the illusion of hope. Real hope requires effort; hopium requires just something you long for to feel good. It also made me sick that so many natural health adherers and New Ageists supported this fraud. Great summary SYD!
