"Just Tell Them...

I have worked 40 years to make the Women's Suffrage platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

I am a Liberal, and I am *NOT* OK With This. (There, I Said It!)

Conservative journalist, John Zeigler, was detained for asking questions outside the Walter Cronkite Awards Ceremony.

I'll simply quote Susan B. Anthony, as to why this kind of action by the Left is NOT OK with me:

"I have worked 40 years to make (our) platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

Like Ms. Anthony, I do not believe in silencing one's opposition. No exceptions. I will fight to the bloody end for anyone whom I perceive is being silenced. That includes Conservatives as well as Liberals.

Quite frankly, I am ashamed of the people / party I used to consider myself a member of.

  1. Well, Ziegler seems to have taken the episode in stride with good humor, realizing the irony of the situation, that no one was allowed to report on a journalism award program....

We know Couric relentlessly dug into Palin for political purposes--that had nothing to do with journalism. Shameful episode and the aftermath of her actually getting an award for it.
