"Just Tell Them...

I have worked 40 years to make the Women's Suffrage platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

Still Holding Out A Shred of Hope?: The Advocate

Wow.

Just wow.

The honeymoon, uh... er..., fantasy is really over?

  1. That is not the image the WH wants to see on the cover of the Advocate. But it should not be a surprise to them after all these months of placating the gay community.

  2. I agree. And that is very sad to me. For any number of reasons....

To think about what could have been is, at times, more than I can bear.

  3. My perception over the last few years is that black ministers are the most active group in openly organizing against equality for homosexuals. So when I found out that Obama had sat in Rev. Wright's church for 20 years and Wright had performed his marriage ceremony and baptised his daughters, I knew Obama's alliance to the anti-gay black community was one he would never cross by doing much of anything beyond lip service in support of homosexual equality -- which he openly opposes, really, since he is against gay marriage.

Gays are starting to wake up to Obama's betrayal. I am working to see that they see a safe place to go. When gays realize Obama is a sociopath who has and always will lie to them AND that there is a positive place to go with their support, then the air will really be out of the Obama administration's tires.

    Hmmmmmmm.......

A BIG Obama in a rainbow of violets, lavenders, purples and pinks on the BIG GAY Magazine cover?

Is the Advocate trying to send an un-spoken message here?

  5. I have been mystified by The Advocate's support of Obama until now. He has been very clear that he opposes gay marriage. He sold out California's Prop. 8 efforts big time. He's failed to eliminate DADT as promised, and he's never done one single thing for the LGBT community. The whole thing has been as moronic as Jews supporting him. I just don't get it!

  6. Cynthia,

You make some good observations. But, just to be fair... Rev. Wright is from a pro-gay denomination... the second most liberal in the country. He has, as far as I know, stood by his gay congregants.

Obama's alliance with Wright bothers me... but for other reasons.

It is his chumminess with the likes of McClurkin that was a HUGE tip off that he would not stand by the gay community. That, and his reluctance to be seen/ photographed with the pro-gay marriage mayor of San Francisco...

I have never trusted Mr. Obama on gay issues. And he is proving my intuition correct.
