"Just Tell Them...

I have worked 40 years to make the Women's Suffrage platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

A Little Too Little, A Lot Too Late: The Belated Call For Recognition of Progressive Women Among the Netroots

Sorry, Ladies. Your presentation was needed two years ago. But the licking of yet another Holy Man's feet kept you mum.

Now.... WHERE did that get us?

Oh, yeah... HERE:

"As the GOP has garnered victories in Massachussetts, Virginia and New Jersey since the 2008 presidential election, progressives are looking for a new path to keep the seats they have and win back the ones they've lost. Standard playbook assumptions about where, how and why progressives can win campaigns have been turned on their head as increasing numbers of voters feel disaffected and Tea Partiers throw wild cards into many races. Progressive women can embrace this moment to help move the progressive agenda forward. But too often the Democratic Party fails to recruit and support the very women candidates who could be game changers for progressive politics."

  1. LOL! That's kind of funny in a bitter way. Sorry, too little, too late.

"Progressive women can embrace this moment to help move the progressive agenda forward."

Here's the problem. That is exactly what progressive women have been doing, helping to move progressive men forward! At some point they might want to change their focus, perhaps consider MOVING WOMEN forward. Unfortunately that's what progressive feminism is now all about, serving progressive men.

  2. Yes it is. Funny and bitter. I don't know whether to laugh at these fools, or cry at the state they have brought us too with their pandering.

    Makes me want to scream!

Pin a medal on their asses for whining TWO AND A HALF YEARS TOO LATE.

And if they did run a woman, it'd be all, "I'm not voting for a woman just because she's a woman, and I'll vote against her for that very reason to prove it!!!!! Did that cute guy in the corner over hear me? I'll say it louder, then! Look how empowerfulated I am! Besides, she reminds me of my mom and she's thinner than me! Bitch!"

Yep Janis, but like it or not, right wing women are not going to be having that problem. They'll be voting for every female they can just because she's a conservative.

On the other side of the aisle, they don't vote for women simply because they are liberal. She's never a good enough liberal. Tell you the truth they got so many darn criteria for women, I'm not even sure if it's possible for a female candidate to be a liberal. Cynthia McKinney was pretty darn liberal but they just called her crazy. Hillary Clinton was really liberal but they said she was too corporate, a hawk, etc etc.

Bush's policies caused the mortgage meltdown, but really, our nation is headed downhill economically in the long run no matter what the President does. That's what it means to have a more equitable global distribution of wealth. Why should America's poor be so much better off than the poor of Africa, South America and Asia?

  6. I am not sure what you are talking about, fsilber. But I know it is not about the subject of this blog entry: "Liberal Sexism."
