"Just Tell Them...

I have worked 40 years to make the Women's Suffrage platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

My Doggy Room is Being Rehabbed now... Aaaacccckkkk! (Thank Goodness for My New Coffee Bar.)

DH just started on the "doggy room" rehab.

That means my own space is continually invaded by little four leggeds. They are everywhere! Which they often are anyways. But, when I have a "doggy room" it is also possible for me to confine them there and have a break. As it is... the only "break" I am getting is during crate time. And, that is limited to night-time and naps.

On the bright side, though, I will soon have a fresh and shiny doggy room. With a ceramic tiled floor that will be ever so much easier to keep clean and disinfected. And it will still open out onto to deck, which leads to the doggy gravel pit (essentially a HUGE litter box for dogs.)

I marvel at how long it has taken us to figure all of this out. To build a perfect rescue space..... But now, I am almost there! (Someone should write a book about this, really!)

While I am waiting for my newly perfected doggy room, I'll just thank goodness that my kitchen is now completed! I can go there to escape for a few moments when I need to. And I get to enjoy this awesome coffee (and wine) bar, much of which was gifted to me by my DH and kids for Mother's Day.

Very nice coffee/wine bar you have there, SYD! Kudos to you for having such a great DH and kids who made any (drinking) woman's dream come true, LOL! And, it made me laugh to read your description of not having alone time except when the doggies are all crated for the night. I empathize though, but I only have three dogs and the nine cats I have do not invade my space quite as LARGELY as the dogs do!

  4. Yep. We have a "doggy room." Which is sort of like a nursery for pups that are not yet housebroken. They have crates there, and toys and food etc. And a little door that opens out into a HUGE litter box/ gravel pit.

Anyways... it is getting redone. With a new tile floor, fresh coat of paint, new curtains and doggy art prints for the walls.

When it is all done... it will be as nice as my own bedroom. Haha!
