"Just Tell Them...

I have worked 40 years to make the Women's Suffrage platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

Lane Bryant: Rejected By FOX and ABC's "Fat Police"?

Today's link is to "Speaking of Women's Rights." Their guest blogger, Katherine McMahon called to my attention this wonderful ad from Lane Bryant:

Apparently the "Fat Police" at the two stations rejected the ad for showing too much skin. Though they had no problem whatsoever with the Victoria's Secret ad linked in McMahon's the blog post. (I am not even going to embed that piece of tripe in my own blog.)

To be honest... I found the Lane Bryant ad to be in good taste. And the Victoria's Secret ad to be pure nonsense. But that's just me... a woman who buys underthings for myself.

I guess FOX and ABC are only interested in ads for barely pubescent boiz who wish their girlfriends wore a size 4??? (Or that they even had girlfriends.)

  1. Our culture really doesn't like women who are healthy, don't look fragile, show too much confidence. The ad also hints that she may be wearing those things for herself, rather than just wearing them for public consumption like Victoria Secret does or Girls Gone Wild.
