"Just Tell Them...

I have worked 40 years to make the Women's Suffrage platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

Just Because I am a Pet Rescuer, I Am Not a Bottomless Pit of Empathy

I left Nursing to get away from the bottomless pit of needs that was once my job.

I left the Church to get away from a bottomless pit of impossible demands.

I left the Democratic Party to get away from a bottomless pit of misogyny.

Now, I'll be damned if the uber needy humans have not followed me into my chosen "hobby" Pet Rescue.

What is it with me? Am I wearing a "kick me" sign on my forehead?? Listen.... I don't want to be told about all your problems, people! Lay on a couch and pay somebody to hear all that. Either you want to work in rescue or you don't.

Geesh.... us Enneagram 2's need a break once in a while, too.

Dear PUMA Friends, Keep Up the Good Blog-Work! (PS. Don't Defend the Congressional Flasher.)

Dear PUMA friends,

I've simply been too busy to blog of late. This is one of the worst kitten seasons we have ever been immersed in. And saving little feline lives is taking up most of my time.

I continue to read your posts on a daily basis. You are my "go to" for news.

Keep up the good work!

SYD

PS. Some of you need to stop defending the congressional flasher. He is not a Bill Clinton. He has not been caught in "an extramarital affair." Anthony Weiner is a classic sex offender. And like all flashers he loves attention. Enough already!

Another Kitty Rescue Completed!

On Friday evening we drove to Lexington KY. To rescue five kitties that were "out of time" in Pikeville.

It was amazing to see how many little lives were saved that evening. All because ONE woman named Jane, went into the shelter and sent us photos of the ones that needed help. Then she took Friday evening to get them all to Lexington... where six of us met her, each taking a few.

Just exactly how rescue works is a mystery to many. People will ask me "where do you get them from?" Well, this is classic. And quite often how it comes together. JUST ONE PERSON takes an interest in helping the pets in a particular shelter. She starts contacting folks like me, to see if we have room. She builds a network of potential foster situations and... wala ...

One rainy Friday evening... dozens of lives are saved!
