"Just Tell Them...

I have worked 40 years to make the Women's Suffrage platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

Hillary is the "Finger in the Dike of America's Foreign Policy"

Took the words right out of my mouth, Insight Analytical.

Thanks to all of the PUMAs who are covering Hillary Clinton's "Parade" magazine spread....

Including All Things Hillary for the wonderful line-up of photos!

    OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

    Didn't that writer mean "dike?"

That's how it's spelled in English!

In refreshing my memory I did discover this which definitely means we should refer to Hillary as the one holding her finger in the dike to protect us all.

"In ancient Greek culture, Dikē, English translation: "justice." was the spirit of
moral order and fair judgement based on immemorial custom. She ruled over human justice, while her mother Themis ruled over divine justice"

  2. This is the only story from which I was, as a child, acquainted with the word "dyke" or "dike."

Have seen the spellings used interchangeably my whole life, though. So... even though "dyke" has been co-opted by the lesbian community.... IMO it is fine to use it here as well.

I like that ancient greek definition, BTW. Thanks for sharing it.

YES...my old brain FINALLY kicked in today...I must have made subconcious error, since there have been all sorts of accusactions about Hillary's sexual orientation!

Of course, I meant DIKE....and SYD...could you change that title to reflect the fact that I've corrected this error in my blog post???

I must be going nuts...I know I have to look at my spelling a lot more closely these days...I've simply lost my command of spelling which is sad because I once was a proofreader!

SIGH!!! I'm just losing my cognitive abilities!

Plus, spelling seem to be changing (although that's not why I let that typo go through)... For example, I know the word ADVISOR as having an O...these days, you see ADVISER which makes me crazy...

Or, how about the incorrect use of the gerund??? It just grates on me when I hear "his ouster resulted in ...." rather than the correct form I was taught..."his ousting resulted in a failed project..." EEK!!! And that's directly the result of the spread via the mass media...once it starts, it doesn't stop!
