"Just Tell Them...

I have worked 40 years to make the Women's Suffrage platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

Coal vs. Oil: A Bit of Earth Day Fodder from Robert Kennedy Jr. and Sarah Palin

It's very busy here, with all the puppies underfoot. But I wanted to drop in with a little bit of Earth Day reading.

First ... this rant from RFK Jr. ought to chap some Obamaniac hide.

And then a little bit of balanced wisdom from Sarah Palin.

Look, folks. Energy policy is complex and multifactorial. There is NO FORM of energy consumption that is wholly without consequence for us and our planet. Both RFK Jr, and Sarah Palin are offering solid opinions.

There is a difference between the two, though. Whereas RFK Jr. has much to say about what we SHOULD NOT DO, Gov. Palin is offering a blueprint to a way through.

When I was living in Boston two winters ago, I seem to remember one of the Kennedy's on the teevee almost every evening. Pushing some kind of Venezuelan heating oil program for the poor. Yes, I think it's great to keep poor kids warm. And I'm glad that Mr. Chavez was willing to help. But... why??? Why can't we produce our own energy?

Seems kinda hypocritical, doesn't it? Why should Venezuelans have to put up with the risks of oil harvesting when we won't do so ourselves?

Just a little Earth Day thought....

No. RFK Jr - who supported Hillary in the primaries - has been always a consistent activist for the environment. Myst gave thought of some other Kennedy. RFK lives in NY for many, many years now.
