I am sure I won't agree with every word the good Sister utters. Nonetheless, I'll chime in with a "Go Sister!" As a former Catholic who spent a lot of years being educated by nuns, and even more working for them, I can vouch for the fact that Sister *is* probably correct about how her own patients will be impacted by the current bill.

It is her business to know. And, if Sr. Carol is anything like the nuns I've worked for in Ohio... she is a walking actuary. Just sayin'.

I tend to agree. I just hope the good Sister does not get the boot from the vatican. Life as a Daughter of Charity would not have allowed her to have her own 401K or anything. Retirement through excommunication would be brutal. Not to mention unfair.

It wasn't all that long ago that Allesandro at the Daily PUMA "suggested" that PUMAs not support Michael Moore's new film. And I agreed.

So... this weekend there I was, standing in line to buy tickets for "Bright Star." When my DH asked me if I'd rather see Moore's new film in the adjoining theatre.

Welllllll ..... that set me off! I think the whole city now knows that I consider Michael Moore to be a conniving backstabber who is responsible, in part, for the predicament that my country now finds itself in. Moore is part of the reason we WILL NOT have meaningful healthcare reform, despite the fact that his last movie was all about how much he wanted it.

No Hillary bashing S.O.B. is EVER going to get another dime from me. And Moore tops the Schadenfreude list. Nothing... and I do mean NOTHING.... will make me happier than to see the Clinton wing of the Democratic Party refuse to buy his worn out brand of self aggrandizing smart-assery.

F.U. Michael Moore. And the C.D.S. you rode in on.

PS. "Bright Star" is a decent film by Jane "The Piano" Campion. I recommend it, if you like tragic love stories or historical fiction. Or both. (And don't forget to bring your MM rant with you!)

Painful As It Is, Sometimes Adults Have to Stand Back and Let The Kiddos FAIL (Plus An Update on Adult U.S. Politics, in Kenya.)

I do not have an opinion on Van Jones. I am deliberately staying away from him as a subject. Cuz, I don’t really care about the media circus surrounding his resignation.

I will say this, though: Mr. Jones' removal from the Green Czar position is yet another symptom of an imploding Obama administration, under the tremendous RW pressure we, PUMAs, always knew was coming.

We tried to warn them. Truly we did. They were clearly going to need us die hard Dems (and yes, even Blue Dawgs) when the shit really began to hit the fan. The BObots knew better. We were all "hillbilly racists" in their book. The “youth” alone would carry this movement for “change.” (With an African American supermajority to help.)

According to Obotian logic, the only reason the RW machine took Bill Clinton down as they did was… cuz he deserved it! And Hillary was “devisive” like Bill. "Triangulators," those two. "Polarizers."

At this point… I’ll leave the Obots on their own to fight the domestic battles I’ve already fought for 30 years+. They can bask in their own, know-it-all, Clinton hating strategies. I wish them well. Really, I do. If they succeed at reasonable Health Care reform, I *may* retire from political activism forever.. and return to nursing.

If not...

After four years of Obama the nation will likely elect Palin. Then, in 2016 we can see what a Palin/Clinton race gets us. I'll be 58 years old then. I'll still have a lot of fight in me, God willing.

Sometimes adults have to stand back and let the kiddos FAIL. It is the only way they can learn. We can watch, and even cry with them. But we can't save them from themselves.

It's too late.

Is Sebelius Merely a Cover for What's Happening to Health Care in the Senate? (What you don't know, might kill you.)

It's unlike them, really, but The New York Times let this little gem slip last week. Don't know how I missed it. Except I don't read that rag any more.... since it became the Obama Press and Lie Factory.

Having been made aware of the "secret Senate talks" though, things are starting to come together. THIS was the missing piece from the Sebelius appointment you see. And here's the clincher:

"Originally, Daschle was to hold both the position of HHS secretary and a top White House post directing the health reform effort. An administration official said Saturday the White House position will not go to Sebelius, but will be filled by another person."

You see ... Gov. Sebeilus, being a Governor and not a Senator, does not pal around with enough lobbyists to make her useful in directing the health care reform effort. Daschle was the king of the lobbyist buddy network. But... not to worry.... cuz there are other kings and princes on the senate floor right now. And they are somehow managing to escape all scrutiny.

The talks, which are taking place behind closed doors, are unusual. Lobbyists for a wide range of interest groups — some of which were involved in defeating national health legislation in 1993-4 — are meeting with the staff of Mr. Kennedy, Democrat of Massachusetts, in a search for common ground."

I would caution Liberals and Conservatives alike to be careful about putting too much focus on the Sebelius pick. Don't let your joy, or sorrow, avert your attention from what is really happening to health care in the Senate's back chambers.
