"Just Tell Them...

I have worked 40 years to make the Women's Suffrage platform broad enough for Atheists and Agnostics to stand upon, and now if need be I will fight the next 40 to keep it Catholic enough to permit the straightest Orthodox religionist to speak or pray and count her beads upon."

Why Binders and Big Bird Don’t Matter - Obama Sycophant, Gwen Ifill, wakes up... Begins to smell coffee?

Obama sycophant, Gwen Ifill, wakes up to the reality.....

Why Binders and Big Bird Don’t Matter - NationalJournal.com

[Eyeing her, I realized she seemed to be just the sort of suburban woman that pollsters tell us both the Obama and the Romney campaigns are fighting over.

Russell had in fact voted for both the late Sen. Ted Kennedy and for President Obama — two big-time Democrats. But now, for the second time, she was working for Brown, a Republican.

Russell, it turns out, is among the legions of the long-term unemployed.

“Well, I’m looking for a job, and I would like to stay in my community,” she told me. “And it’s turned out to be an immense chore. I’ve been offered jobs that are primarily part-time, and I’m concerned about my medical insurance, because I am paying an additional $400 a month for medical insurance, just in the past two years. So that frightens me.”

Russell also plans to vote for Romney. Why? I asked. She said with a little shrug, “My job. I need a job.”]

I seem to remember Ms. Ifill doing some servile slobbering in 2008.....

“Now look, It’s all HER fault” (via Puma P.A.C.) UPDATE: Response from McCain, Graham, Ayotte

“Now look, It’s all HER fault”

Pretty much says it all.

I am SO DONE with the Obamacrat party. '

UPDATE: John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Kelly Ayotte response.

STATEMENT BY SENATORS McCAIN, GRAHAM AND AYOTTE ON SECRETARY CLINTON’S COMMENTS THIS EVENING ON BENGHAZI ATTACK

October 15, 2012

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators John McCain (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) today released the following statement on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s comments this evening regarding the terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on September 11, 2012:

“We have just learned that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has claimed full responsibility for any failure to secure our people and our Consulate in Benghazi prior to the attack of September 11, 2012. This is a laudable gesture, especially when the White House is trying to avoid any responsibility whatsoever.

“However, we must remember that the events of September 11 were preceded by an escalating pattern of attacks this year in Benghazi, including a bomb that was thrown into our Consulate in April, another explosive device that was detonated outside of our Consulate in June, and an assassination attempt on the British Ambassador. If the President was truly not aware of this rising threat level in Benghazi, then we have lost confidence in his national security team, whose responsibility it is to keep the President informed. But if the President was aware of these earlier attacks in Benghazi prior to the events of September 11, 2012, then he bears full responsibility for any security failures that occurred. The security of Americans serving our nation everywhere in the world is ultimately the job of the Commander-in-Chief. The buck stops there.

Dawn Your PUMA Marching Boots, You Bull Moose, You! ("Press On," Indeed.)

I'm always on the lookout for decent PUMA screeds. Like this quite excellent one, previously posted at

The Confluence.

And while Mr. Obama bids us to "Press On..."

Our actual marching orders are about to to be released from more competent quarters.

Dawn those PUMA marching boots, my friends! And "press on" indeed!!

The US Fish and Wildlife Service Would Like to Spend Your Tax Dollars Lobbying to End Successful, Humane Trap-Neuter-Return Programs

PLEASE TELL OBAMA NO!

"Despite the proven success of TNR, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service plans to offer a workshop to teach people how to implement strategies against TNR programs in their local communities. The workshop is scheduled to take place at the Wildlife Society Annual Conference in Hawaii on November 5.

You have the power to protest this misguided effort and to urge the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to embrace effective, humane TNR programs. Please visit the Best Friends Animal Advocacy Center (linked above) and take action today!"

I cannot even tell you how infuriating I find this. Another ill informed, ill prepared move by Obama and his funders. That could have resounding effects on the innocent cats we work so hard to protect and care for.

Tell Obama: NO WE WON'T!

The Ultimate Hypocrite Rants About "Super-Congress" (Kinda like Super Delegates, only More Powerful. Huh?)

I won't link directly to the S.O.B. so I'll link you to Rev. Virginia's link to the most hateful man on Earth.

Yes, Keith-O... Remember the "Super-Delegates" you lurved so much?? Well the same model is now being used to create a "Super-Congress." To bypass the will of the people? Ya think??

Eff you, Keith Olbermann. And all your buddies, so succinctly remembered as BACKSTABBERS.

I wish I could have half as much hope as Lorac does in that second link. Half? Even a fraction ... :-{

Home Depot C.E.O. vs. Krugman: You Decide

Compare that to Krugman's latest Op-Ed.

Then tell me who is talking to the American People? And why Obama is failing so miserably to win on Democratic ideals??

H/T Femisex for the Langone interview.

UPDATES: PUMA, D.K. Jamaal discusses the American Public's choice HERE. Jamaal is dead on correct. No amount of intellectual pontification from Krugman, or anyone else, can change the reality that the "Tea Party Has Won The Debt Ceiling Debate."

Former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland (D):
“I don’t know if they failed, I think they may have miscalculated,” he said of the administration’s handling of the debt messaging. “[But] I’m troubled when I hear the phrase ‘shared sacrifice,’ because quite frankly I think the working people in this country have already sacrificed.” (Keep in mind that Ted was a big Hillary supporter and knows that Obama has failed. In fact, I was there when he begged us to vote Hillary for the sake of the State, and the party.)

The Thing I Find Most Disturbing About Mr. Obombya's Presidency...

is his effective silencing of any opposition to war.

When the war machine decided to back Barack Obombya... they absolutely knew what they were doing. And when the Nobel Peace Prize committee awarded Mr. Obombya their highest honor, they were delusional.

Exactly how many wars is this man waging? And where is the opposition? Code Pink? The NYT? ANYBODY???

This country is lost, hopelessly. Escalating war upon clandestine war. While cutting Social Security and Medicare. And it's all going unchallenged, under the watch of a supposed "democrat."

It truly sickens me to see my old party lost at sea. Floundering at the command of a "leader" that has no business calling himself a Democrat.

UPDATE: Obombya throws proverbial bone to anti-war crowd.

And they will buy it, despite this warning from Glen Greenwald and many other well known Liberals.

Remember When Barack Obama Expressed Support for Tibet?

In the form of a (2008) letter to the Dalai Lama Mr. Obama sought to assure (the holy man) of his highest respect and support "for your mission and your people at this critical time."

Well, that's all changed now.

Of course, China is throwing a tantrum about the meeting. So nobody is happy.

Which is just the problem with never taking a stand on anything, and always trying to appease both sides.

Really, peace advocates.... It's time to dismount. This horse has long ago handed in his horseshoes.

The Pall That Came Over Me As I Watched The Rejoicing ...

I felt a strange pall come over me this morning. After hearing the news of Osama Bin Laden's death. And watching some footage of young people rejoicing in D.C.

Something makes me feel uneasy about the whole thing. Not sure what. Is it the the potential for retaliation? The hastiness with which Bin Laden was buried at sea? What is wrong with me? Don't I love America??

Maybe I was just flashing back to that awful morning, when my sister got me out of the bathtub to tell me "turn on the TV. A jet just hit the twin towers." (It was my daughter's 13th birthday. We had just sent her off to school with a dollar pinned to her shirt.)

Perhaps it's the killing of my own ideals that I mourn for? The silencing of the peacemongers I once stood shoulder to shoulder with, as we protested the war in Iraq.

I think I am dismayed to see what I can only describe as the "New Left" beating it's breast in triumph. The effectiveness with which the anti-war movement has been silenced by this president. Not that I always agreed with the likes of "Code Pink" or anything. It's just that... well ... knowing they were there to protest the "absolute power" of our military oriented government made me feel "safer" somehow.

Why can't I just feel happy? 8~/

If All Goes Well in Libya It's To Obama's Credit, If We Get Mired in Another War... That's Hillary's Fault

I ventured this "Hillary's to blame, Obama gets another peace prize" Libya hypothesis a couple of days ago, and posted it in response to a couple of the blogs I frequent.

This morning I find, fellow PUMA, D.K. Jamaal posting the substantiating evidence for my theory.

Yep... here we go again.... Mr. Sullivan is at it with his woman hate. (I won't even remind you of how he obsessed over Palin's uterus.)

Meanwhile... The Daily Beast offers a fairly positive summary of the "Women Who Called for War." But, believe me... in the end... Hillary (and to a lesser degree Susan and Samantha) will be blamed so that Obama can keep up his "great peacemaker" facade.

As that idiot Sullivan actually wrote:

"I don’t think it’s wrong for a President of the United States to issue an opinion about some madman like Gaddafi ...snip.... this initiative, this, this, this no-fly zone, this war essentially, is, is a Hillary-McCain concept."

Yes. Sullivan actually said that Hillary Clinton and John McCain cooked up the Libya no-fly zone while all Obama wanted was to *say* Gadaffi must go.

Un-effin-believable!

Barack Obama: The Case in Which Sexist Deepak Chopra's "Intuition" Failed

Yes, it seems the new age holy man was *wrong.* Barack Obama did not turn out to be the second coming:

It's a sad state of affairs. I loved President Obama. I've met with him, I voted for him and I supported him, but I think he's ineffective at the moment," Chopra tells the racy monthly in excerpts of his feature interview released on Playboy's website.

"I mean, with all the support and the majority in Congress that he had, he couldn't get the health care bill passed comfortably! It's that way with all the things he said he would do. He can't get rolling, he can't get the support. I think Obama should be just a one-term president.
"

Is anyone surprised? Hello! This is what happens when the electorate hates political women enough to write an offensive tome about Sarah Palin as Barack's "evil shadow??" (Was Chopra serious in that? Or was he trying to create a Freudian caricature of himself??)

Dr. Chopra has lost all credibility as far as I am concerned. His new agey aura cannot hide the sad fact that he is a misogynist who has bought into some mythic nonsense about men as "light" and women as "darkness."

How many times have we heard that kind of B.S.?

And how many times has it gotten us incompetent leadership??

Same Message From Palin and Obama. Which Will Be Remembered? (That is the question.)

By most PUMA accounts that I have read so far, President Obama delivered a decent speech last evening. Though many feel that using a memorial service to launch a campaign slogan was tacky.

My take:

I think it is fair to assert that Mr. Obama's speech may not be what we remember about this fateful week. Except, perhaps, to bemoan the poor taste of printing t-shirts for a memorial service.

It could well be Sarah's one-liner "Blood Libel" that sticks in our minds. (Given, it will mainly be remembered because the Left is making such a huge deal out of it. And the middle of our beloved country is waking up saying "well, yeah... that's what this smear campaign was.")

I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised to hear the same essential message coming from Obama and Palin. "Together We Thrive" is not all that different from "Cut the blood libel." It's just that one will be remembered. And one, despite being emblazoned on a gazillion t-shirts, may not be.

I hope this is my final statement on this subject.

H/T to Uppity Woman for the photo. And to Tennessee Guerilla Women for the "blood libel" links.

ADDENDUMS:

And, now, as myiq asserts ... I will be condemned for trying to observe both sides without a jaded ear.

And as Anna Belle laments, being objective will get us both labelled "Right Wing" by our former allies.

I Love James Carville, Even When His Jokes Are Crude (UPDATE: Carville is called four letter word: PUMA.)

He's one of the few Dem Party insiders that has the gall to say something like this:

And he's right, too. Metaphorically speaking.

H/T to Hillary is 44 for the video link.

UPDATE: "Let them be offended." (Carville refuses to apologize. Obots call him a four letter word: "PUMA.")

Half-Assed Positions Are This President's Hallmark

I have deliberately steered away from commenting on the President's half-assed positions on the GZ Mosque and immigrant rights. But THIS is personal. I have a gay son, you see. And I know... first hand.... how important marriage rights were to him, when he lost his partner to a freak accident three years ago. (Thank God they were living in Boston at the time!)

Mr. Obama, you should be ashamed. As an American I ask... why can't you take a stand??

H/T to Tennessee Guerilla Women for the link.
