Sun and Fresh Food Going to My Head? I Actually Feel Sad for Last Year's Groupies...

I have been in California for a week now. Surrounded by Liberals and Libertarians.

It's a curiosity to me, how one's climes can affect one's politics.

Anyways... Yesterday I went to the post office and saw some LaRouche Dems outside, protesting with signs that said "Impeach Obama." Twenty-somethings, bitching about how Obama lied. How his White House is bought and paid for by Wall Street. How he stole their votes.... and then sold them out.

I felt sorry for them. Not bitter. Not angry. Just sorry. Sad, as I imagined them former Obama groupies. So trusting... these fresh faced, first time voters of 2008. Trusting of a Democratic party that would goad them with promises from of "Superpresident," and then turn on them ... mortgaging their futures... in some "too big to fail" bank scheme.

I have yet to meet a midwest style "Conservative" in these parts. I don't see any pick-up trucks with McCain / Palin still on their bumpers, like I do back home. (There they just scratch out the McCain part and hope for a future Palin run. No kidding.) Besides the Libertarians who live in the hills surrounding the SF Bay. The ones who want nothing to do with either major party. Besides them... it seems that the LaRouche Dems ARE the "conservatives" here. In the sense that they kinda sound like the "smaller government" crowd. They want Obama impeached.

Whatever.

At any rate, I am quite surprised at how few pro-Obama propaganda pieces I see in greater San Fran. I suppose the lustre has worn off?

Yesterday PUMAs Were "Conservatives." Today, We Are "Left Wing Fringe." All Cuz We Happen to Believe the Constitution Protects EVERYONE Equally.

Remember yesterday when so many of us PUMAs were being dismissed as "Closet Republicans" or "Conservatives" or "Right-Wing Nutjobs" and "Racists?" Because we happened to think that our votes for Hillary Clinton *should* have mattered....

Well, those days are OVER my friends. Today we are "Left Wing Fringe." This time because we happened to disagree with The Holy One about how quickly our nation should move forward on GLBT rights. No kidding. That is all it took for the Obamedia to change it's tune about our "disloyal" tendencies.

Here's a little rundown of what I consider to be some of the best of the PUMA reports from/ on yesterday's rally in D.C. Keep in mind that I do not get news from the MSM, except through these filters. So... my opinion may be a bit jaded.

As linked above.... Dissenting Justice. On the phenomena of Obama dissenters who used to be "Conservatives" now being labelled "Left Wing Fringe." Theme also echoed at Tennessee Guerilla Women.

It's an odd thing how stabs in the back like this one seem to irk PUMAs. Especially when they follow high falutin' blow jobs.

Yesterday, Not Your Sweetie covered the schadenfreude over at the Sullivan and Avrosis blogs. Cry us a river, boiz. Wah-wah. And next time you decide to choose a candie date, do a little research into his/her voting (and marching) history.

Many PUMAs reported on the Nobel Peace Prize farce over the weekend. As did the Log Cabin Republicans. Who can blame them? I have a few more things to say about that, myself. Probably tomorrow.

For today tho... I want to recognize the millions of Americans that are being discriminated against because of who they love. I think they deserve our support.... even if some of them did lose our respect during the 2008 Democratic Primaries.

Master Schadenfruede List Grows Cumbersome, Is Abandoned for Smaller "Daily Schadenfreudes"

Today we find that Not Your Sweetie lists a few new Schadenfreude recipients: War Protesters, Doctors, and.... are ya ready..... Journalists.

OK. I'll admit that I do not feel "glee" about what Doctors are experiencing. I know that many of them *did* vote for Hillary. As did many nurses. Myself included. Some of us voted for Mac, too. Knowing that at least he understood Pharmaceutical and Insurance industry price controls. (That's why they hated him, BTW, and gave all their $$$ to The Holy One.)

But.... as for the Anti-War protesters. And the ..... bwahahahahaaaahhhhhaaaaa.... "Journalists." (Excuse me while I compose myself. Uh humm.) These idiots have gotten what they deserve, I'm afraid. Mother Karma is playing Her hand.

FOOLS!

I understand why NYS has abandoned her Master Schadenfreude List. It was getting too long. Cumbersome.

But still.... I miss it.....

Blue Dawgs Storm Out in Anger: "We Have Been Lied To!"

As reported at "The Hill."

"If the two sides cannot reach an agreement, the only hope for passage of the bill in the House will be to go straight to the floor, an option leaders shied away from endorsing but said was an option.

But the Blue Dogs issued dire warnings to leaders contemplating that approach.

"Waxman simply does not have votes in committee and process should not be bypassed to bring the bill straight to floor,” Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.), the lead Blue Dog negotiator, said on Friday. “We are trying to save this bill and trying to save this party.”

Melancon said there would be 40-45 “solid no” votes from the 52-strong Blue Dogs, among other problems throughout the caucus. And Melancon said there are more Democrats who will vote against the bill."

Trying to "save this party?"

Whoa. Things must be worse than we are allowed to know...

No More Burqa Wearing in France! (President Sarkosy's Obama Smackdown?)

"French President Nicolas Sarkozy lashed out Monday at the practice of wearing the Muslim burqa, insisting the full-body religious gown is a sign of the "debasement" of women and that it won't be welcome in France."

"In our country, we cannot accept that women be prisoners behind a screen, cut off from all social life, deprived of all identity," Sarkozy said to extended applause in a speech at the Chateau of Versailles southwest of Paris.

"The burqa is not a religious sign, it's a sign of subservience, a sign of debasement - I want to say it solemnly," he said. "It will not be welcome on the territory of the French Republic."

Wow! Is it direct smackdown of Obama's "let them wear hijab" statement??

Are Repeated "Mishaps" in the Oval Office Evidence of "Post Progressive" , "Post Feminist" Thinking

I began writing this in response to a post over at HILLBUZZ. When I reread it, I thought it merited it's own blog post. So, I'll quote myself here, and then I'll expound.

I believe that, when one observes repeated “mishaps” one can only conclude that they are intentional. I did not take the "dissing of Gordon Brown" seriously, to be frank. I saw the Obama gift gaffe as evidence of inexperience and ignorance. But, now we have this Chirac/Sarkozy incident as well???

Too many high level faux pas to NOT pay attention. Even if we assume that Mr. Obama does not know what he is doing, he DOES have access to advisors. No?

The one international communique that Mr. Obama did not seem to flub up, was the Iran address. And, yet, THEY have snubbed him.

I am going to venture a guess that Obama’s plan was to cozy up to the Islamic nations of the world … by off-handedly dissing the Western “powers that be.” Only thing is... Iran does not really want to get cozy with the U.S. Because it knows in a matter of time the usurper ‘n chief will be ousted. And then what? They'll be cozy with whom???

This is a very serious situation, IMO. It is worse than the crisis Biden predicted.

I speak as a hypereducated Feminist when I say that what we are seeing here is the natural evolution of post-feminist, post-racial, post-progressive thought. Sadly, everything the Western Enlightenment stands for is now viewed by intellectuals to be suspect. Accusations of "ethnocentrism" taint everything within the hallowed halls of the University. England, France, The U.S.A. ... are all "evil."

We stand on a dangerous and historic precipice. Very few of the educated elite have the clear-mindedness to see what we are doing to ourselves. Worse, we in the U.S. have elected a bumbling neophyte to show us the way. Obama now seems hellbent on alienating what remains of our natural allies. After eight years of a Bush administration, the hallmarks of which were hubris and deceit, that's not going to be difficult for him.

The Unreformation of Welfare and Hillary's Tears (We didn't know what we had, now it's gone.)

I realize that I may be taking a differing POV from some PUMAs. There are, after all, Dems who hated Clinton for his welfare reforms.

But, I was and still am a Clinton Dem. I was proud of Bill for finding a way to reign in welfare spending. I was proud of us Dems when Bill left the White House with a balanced budget.

I don't know for sure how Hillary would have handled this. But, I think her tact would have been different than Obama's.

I still believe the way out of excessive welfare rolls lies in universal health care. If we all had health care, then loss of a job would not have near the impact it does on families. And employers would not have to provide insurance.... so there would be more jobs. That is where I believe Hillary would have invested our money.

Paying the states to keep people on welfare is not good. Not good for the taxpayer OR the welfare recipient.

I remember Hillary crying and saying "I just don't want to see us fall backwards."

Well, now I am crying too.

On the bright side, though, by the time this is all over, Bill's Presidential Rating will climb another six notches. As historians begin to ponder what they have missed about the Clinton genius, and appreciate it.

No wonder they wanted Hillary as Secretary of State. They placed her as far from domestic policy as they could get her.... so they could turn back the clock and get away with it.

Do-Do-Do-Don't it always seem to go..... ya don't know what ya got til it's gone.....
